Now, a lot of people like sci-fi and a lot of people don't like sci-fi so I don't think we want to have a mass of rocket ships going around, making the genre all sci-fiey.
Now if anyones ever played the game populous it still keeps the feel of a tribal, ancient game despite the fact that you can travel through the solar system, the same goes for world of warcrafts planets.
The point i'm trying to make is basically that seperate planets will not make the game a sci-fi game.

Anyway, what I suggest is that travel from diffrent planets is done from steampunk style pod rockets, and the space suits will be reminiscant of dogū statues which were widely belived to be evidence of ancient astronauts.
Spoiler:
Anyway, these suits will basically be extremly large in relation to the body (almost like the bouncer big daddy of bioshock) and have large goggles as eyes (these can blink). The ancient astronaut suit can be bought if travelling to a different planet.

Now travel to diffrent planets seems to be in great demand, I think having a moon to circle the main planet would work well but personally I think that if we are further apart PW will cease to be PW and everything will just be seperate.

I imagine the pods for space travel to be extremly small and made of metal that fits in with the space suits (almost like a cast) and food is fed through sucking a tube. The long trip from the home planet to another planet is extremly hot and claustrophobic and some people die from overheating but its worth it to see the diffrent planets.

(Saying yes or no is basically just saying yes to the form of space travel and suits but not the diffrent planets.)

I don't like portals, there should be a sense of it actually bieng hard to get somewhere instead of teleporting.

its 3/2.
It won't effect people unless they actually choose to hop to the moon, and its a good adventure.

Ancient Astronauts are always a bad idea. No to them, and no to differant plants untill we actually need the room.

Lets get this one planet straight first and then if we still think we want it we can make a moon with a breathable atmosphere and tweak the exsisting aspects of the "Earth" world to fit the environment of a colonized moon.

EX:Atmosphere generators that require power from the planet below in order to operate.

As for a travel meathod, I agree with portals but I also agree that they shouldn't be simple or easy to open. We could put them in fixed positions near large trade centers and they would only be availble to factions with a large amount of energy. If my earlier mentioned crystal meathod is agreed upon then we can make the portals location relative to the largest crystals.
